Jess Karren is a Suarez International Staff Instructor teaching in Lubbock, TX and the West Texas/Panhandle region. He is an NRA Law Enforcement Certified Pistol and Shotgun instructor as well as a Range Safety Officer. He is a Texas licensed peace officer and currently assigned as a Homicide/Robbery investigator. When not occupied working cases, Jess is assigned as a Texas Commission On Law Enforcement (TCOLE) certified firearms instructor at his agency.

Jess found Suarez International in 2006 and took his first training class (Force on Force) in Amarillo, Texas in 2007. Upon becoming a police officer in 2009, Jess applied what he learned in Force on Force against a real world threat while responding to a burglary in progress. After experiencing a shooting and investigating countless others, both civilian and officer involved, Jess brings his unique perspective and experience to bare as he teaches reality based, fight focused concepts to his students.
